Speaking at a recent press conference in Malibu, California on Sunday (August 12), executive producer Mark Burnett along with The Voice judges, Adam Levine, Cee Lo Green, Christina Aguilera and Blake Shelton, announced plans to mix up the format for season three of the talent show.
In an interesting new twist, the upcoming third season will now allow judges to steal contestants from one another! If one judge decides to send home a contestant, the others will have an opportunity to steal them, providing they deem the contestant worthy of saving!
Bosses have also added a 'knock out' round, whereby the coaches will only have five contestants to take into the live finals instead of the previous ten, meaning that once the show enters its live performance stage there will only be 20 contestants left to battle it out!
These new additions to the format will definitely make things more interesting, especially given the feuds between some of the judges, particularly Christina Aguilera and Adam Levine! Imagine if one of them stole a contestant away and went on to win the show with them! Anything could happen!
The new season will premiere on September 10 on NBC. Helping the judges with their decisions will be an A list line up of coaches which include, Michael Buble , Mary J Blige, Rob Thomas and Billie Joe Armstrong.
We can't wait!
