The Voice's Shock Semi Final Results: REVIEW

Tonight, eight became four, with just one singer from each team left in the battle to become 'The Voice' in next week's final.

The show kicked off with an impressive performance of 'You're The Voice' from all eight of the finalists: Jaz, Max, Becky, Leanne, Ruth, Bo, Vince, and Tyler. Even joined in, showing off his moon walking skills with his Olympic torch.

First up, Bo and Max went head to head to represent Team Danny in the final. Bo made it through thanks to her standout performance of 'Charlie Brown’ by Coldplay on last night's show. Max was sent home, but he held it together saying: “Bo is incredible, and I'm so happy for her.” Danny struggled to speak about Max's departure, saying: “Sorry, I'm gutted.”

Next, it was Team Jessie's turn to find out their fate. Becky's soulful performance of Corrine Bailey Rae's 'Like A Star' yesterday wasn't enough to beat Vince, whose rendition of 'Back to Black' sent him through to the final. A tearful Becky told presenter Holly Willoughby: “Everything's reachable. No matter what you think, if you wanna go for it you can”. Mentor Jessie described Becky as “Oh wow,” and said: “I can't wait to see her blossom into a worldwide superstar.”

Tom Jones was left looking rather devastated after Ruth was sent home and Leanne earned a place in the final, but we had a hunch Leanne might make it through after the reactions to both contestants performances last night. “This girl's got something incredible, I'm telling you,” said Tom when saying farewell to Ruth. As the results were announced, tweeted: “#ididntseethatcoming...(Ruth) “noooooo” :(”.

Kylie Minogue then performed her new single, ‘Time Bomb’, leaving Team’s Tyler and Jaz waiting to hear their fate. Kylie's hippie themed performance was a definite crowd pleaser, and she later said she loved performing in front of The Voice judges, calling them such a 'fabulous' front row.

Last but not least, Tyler, who had swapped in his pink suit for a navy blue number, secured the fourth space in the final as Jaz was sent home despite his best efforts yesterday. However suggested this won't be the last we see of the contestant, tweeting: “@jazellington this is just the beginning for our work together in the near future... Let's take this to outer space :),” just after the show.

So that leaves us with the final four contestants: Bo, Vince, Leanne and Tyler. Who do you think will win? We can’t wait to see the final next week where the coaches will perform each other’s songs.
