The Wanted may be one of the biggest boy bands in the UK, but it looks like they have some ways to go in the US compared to their rivals One Direction, being greeted by only a handful of fans outside their hotel in the States yesterday.

Just as One Direction left the country, the 'Glad You Came' hitmakers jetted into Los Angeles this week to work on new material for their upcoming album, Third Strike. Max George, Siva Kaneswaran, Jay McGuiness, Tom Parker and Nathan Sykes were spotted outside their hotel on Wednesday afternoon where they were approached by a handful of fans who snagged the opportunity to ask the lads for photos and autographs.

The five-piece band are hoping to score some big collaborations for their new album, including Chris Brown, whom they recently revealed is keen to team up with the boys in the studio. The Wanted will most likely be staying in the US for the next few weeks as they prepare to join Justin Bieber on his 'Believe' tour.

The group will be supporting the teen star on his next Canadian dates on November 23 and 26 in addition to two shows at New York's Madison Square Garden at the end of the month.

Entertainmentwise spoke to The Wanted recently about their upcoming tour with Justin, and they revealed there will be plenty of pranks and naughty antics going on.

"Justin's a lot of fun, I'm expecting a lot of pranks on us. He's a pranker. He can be a little s**t and I like that. He hasn't actually tried it on with me, I think he's a little bit scared," Max told us.

"He punched Siva in the balls, he tweeted Siva a private joke and that was the private joke." Nathan added: "He's going for Siva's balls."

The band are no doubt hoping to score the same success as their rivals One Direction, who broke records this week when they attracted an audience of 15,000 for their performance on the Today show.

Do you think The Wanted can emulate One D's fame?
