X Factor rejects Union J have signed a record deal with Sony, just as it was announced that former contestant Ella Henderson also inked a contract with the record label.
The group, who were formerly known as Triple J until soloist George Shelley joined the boyband, were eliminated from The X Factor in fourth place during this year's competition, much to the dismay of their fans.

However, Union J have now been snapped up by giant record company Sony just two weeks after they left the show.
Initially announcing the news at a gig in Cardiff's Pulse nightclub on Saturday, the boyband informed their audience that they plan on releasing their debut album in 2013.
The boys again confirmed the news during an appearance on Daybreak this morning, revealing they will be finalising the paperwork this week.
"It's amazing. It's been a crazy week," member Jaymi Hensley said on Daybreak.
"Obviously when we came out of the show the dream was to get a record deal and we're going to Sony today to sort out all the contracts and stuff. Before Christmas we will have our deal finalised."
It's not only Union J who will have something major to celebrate this Christmas, with their fellow former X Factor contestant Ella Henderson also signing a deal with Sony.
The 16-year-old retweeted countless congratulatory messages from fans today, and the trend "#EllaSignedToSONY" became a top worldwide trend.
The signings come as James Arthur inked a deal with Simon Cowell's Syco label when he won The X Factor last week.
James has already enjoyed plenty of success with his winner's single 'Impossible' soaring straight to the top of the charts, becoming the fastest-selling single in the UK this year.
With Union J now fully fledged recording artists, it's looking like One Direction may have some competition in 2013.
