With celebs notoriously being released early due to over-crowding in American prisons, we take a look at stars whose feet have barely had time to touch the prison floor, after TMZ reports that Whitney Houston's ex husband Bobby Brown served only nine hours of a 55-day jail sentence after pleading no contest to his second DUI offence in seven months, and for driving on a suspended license.
The New Edition singer allegedly checked in Los Angeles County Jail at 9:58 on Wednesday morning, but was said to have been released a mere nine hours later at 6:58 PM, despite a Los Angeles County Sheriff's spokesperson saying just days ago that the 44-year-old would serve at least eight days of his sentence.
"But he could get out in a matter of days and go on electronic monitoring. It’s really tough to say exactly", the spokesperson admitted, perhaps aware of the prison's full capacity.
The father of Bobbi Kristina Houston Brown is no stranger to jail. In 1996 he spent five days behind bars for crashing Whitney's Porsche, with a reported blood-alcohol level of nearly three times the legal driving limit, and spent time in jail in 2000 when cocaine was found in his system after a court-ordered drug test.

But Bobby isn't the only celeb to find themselves faced with time behind bars, only to serve a tiny amount of jail time.
Paris Hilton did only a 3-day stint in jail in 2007 after failing to enroll in a court-ordered rehab program and being pulled over for speeding and driving without a license. The hotel heiress was then ordered to complete 40 days of home monitoring and made to wear an electronic ankle tag.

Youngest Kardashian sister Khloe did less than three hours of a 30-day jail sentence she received after violating her probation for a DUI in 2008. According to the Los Angeles Sheriff's department, Lamar Odom's curvaceous wife was processed into Lynwood jail in California at 10:36 AM, and released shortly afterwards at 1:29 that afternoon due to over-crowding in the prison.

Lionel Richie's daughter Nicole Richie spent only 82 minutes of her four-day sentence in the same jail as Khloe in 2007. The 31-year-old was five months pregnant at the time, but according to a sheriff's statement was "treated in the same manner as other inmates with a similar sentence".

Ted actor Mark Wahlberg completed 45 days of a two year sentence for attempted murder and assault, after allegedly attacking a middle-aged Vietnamese man on the street and knocking him unconscious with a wooden stick.

And who could forget Lindsay Lohan's trouble with the authorities? The actress was sentenced to 30 days in jail in November 2011, but served only five hours due to overcrowding.
