Kate Middleton has been engulfed by speculation she's expecting a baby girl following what appeared to be a slip up during a royal visit to Grimsby.
While we're sure the Duchess is regretting appearing to stutter over the word, “daughter,” while collecting a teddy bear from a well-wisher, Sandra Cook, who told the press initially about her exchange with the royal, has admitted she wish she'd “never said anything,” after being inundated with press attention.
The Duchess, who is five months pregnant reportedly made the slip up as she accepted a teddy bear from local Diane Burton. Friend Sandra Cook, who was standing next to the pair and heard the exchange told reporters, the Duchess said: "thank you, I'll take that for my d--,” before cutting herself off.
The 67 year-old said: "I said to her: 'You were going to say daughter weren't you?' and she said, 'No, we don't know.'"
"I said, 'Oh, I think you do', to which she said: 'We're not telling.'"
The comments made headlines around the world as millions speculated about the sex of the child, something which Cook now wishes she kept to herself after the world's media turned to herfor the story.

"I wish I had never said anything!” she told the Grimsby Telegraph. "I am fed up and I have been inundated with press from all over the country.”
She went on: "I was even woken up at midnight by press trying to get in contact with me and I don't want to say any more on it. I have said everything I wanted to say and that's it."
With the interest in the royals at fever pitch, Ms Cook might have to put up with royal fans for a little longer. Ironically, before the 'd' word debate, Ms Burton who gifted the teddy to the expectant mother claimed she had no interest in what sex the baby is.
"I am not bothered what sex the baby is as long as she has a healthy, happy baby,” she told the local paper as she waited for the royal.
"But I do wish she would have a girl, because she could take the middle name of Diana, after Princess Diana."
