If you were hoping for an Adele-style album from Katy Perry then you may be waiting a while. The singer has confirmed that she will not be writing a whole album based around her recent divorce.
The singer, who split from Russell Brand in December last year after 14 months together, says she has no plans to dedicate her next record to him.
"I'd never devote a whole record to heartbreak. I'm happy, I'm in a good place, I'm looking forward to my future," Perry told The Sun.
She added that she believes her marriage failed because she barely saw Brand while on her recent 'California Dreams' world tour.
"If I could edit it any other way I would, but that is exactly the way it was. I always had plans to make this record and usually with a record, you tour a record. Touring is always important to me. It's like a big IOU to my fans, because I know they are the reason I exist," she said.
"Then last year, in my relationship, it's like I didn't want to change. I wanted to stay as a performer who has so much love for my fans, and I don't want to ever think I would have to choose between them."
Katy Perry was in London earlier this week promoting her new film Part Of Me.
The documentary shows the pain that Katy went through during her split from Russell Brand last year.
The comedian filed for divorce in December 2011 after just 14 months of marriage and in the documentary Katy claims she did everything in her power to make the relationship work.
While you might think Russell, would avoid the movie, the comedian is said to have had an advanced screening to check exactly what was said of the break-up and reportedly was shocked to see just how much he had hurt his wife.
