Yahoo News Next Black Friday sale: What we're hoping to shop this year
Black Friday is almost upon us, and we have high hopes that Next will once again be offering big discounts on a whole host of products, from fashion to home.
While we don't know for sure whether the brand will be taking part in Black Friday, last year's Next Black Friday sale was definitely worth the wait. In keeping with previous years, the UK retailer dropped some serious discounts, offering 70% off its Black Friday edit online and in stores – and free delivery for all UK orders. So, you better believe we have high hopes for Black Friday 2020...
What can we expect from the Next Black Friday sale 2020?
If you're looking for womenswear, a diverse range was reduced for Black Friday 2019, from cosy winter basics such as knitwear, sweat tops and jackets to more summery items, including bikinis and sandals.
There were plenty of deals on kids clothes last year too, from newborn babies to those well into their school years – plus lots of savings on school essentials such as trainers and uniform pieces.
But some of the biggest savings in the Next Black Friday sale 2019 were definitely in the home section. The retailer offered 70% off over 100 items, such as curtains, storage and bedding.
What should I look out for in the Next Black Friday sale?

Homeware at Next
The Black Friday sales are a great time to refresh your kitchenware at a discount. Throw away chipped old plates and get a fresh new set or stock up on festive decorations for the table. You can also use the sales to get cold-weather ready by investing in a cosy thick winter duvet or revamp your sofa with some bright cushions.
Fashion at Next
Next has a huge offering, which means you'll probably find everything you need on its site this Black Friday. Forever reliable for go-to basics like T-shirts, pyjamas and workwear, the retailer has really upped the style stakes recently with a host of new collections, including beautiful coats, tailored separates and cozy knitwear.
Brands at Next
Next also stocks a whole host of household brands, such as Figleaves, Barbour, River Island, Reiss, Mint Velvet and Nike. Stay savvy on Black Friday and do some shopping around; often there are better deals on stockist websites than the actual retailers'.
What is Black Friday?
Black Friday is a mega sale event that starts on 27 November and continues through until Monday, 30 November, which is also known as Cyber Monday, as it’s typically biggest day of the year for online shopping. (Bear in mind, though, that some retailers can keep their sale going for up to two weeks.)
While Black Friday originated in America to mark the start of the Thanksgiving rush, the UK has taken part since 2010, when Amazon first held a Black Friday sale for us Brits.
We’re clearly a nation of bargain-hunters, as the popularity of the weekend has grown ever since, with more and more retailers taking part.

Next has taken part in the Black Friday sales for the last few years, so we're hoping it will do the same in 2020.
