Next DeWitt Park lawsuit hearing to come in April

Feb. 13—The lawsuit objecting to the city of Clinton's sale of DeWitt Park property to the Clinton YWCA will be a hearing on April 26, according to defense attorneys following status hearing on Friday in Clinton County District Court.

Lawsuit plaintiffs Stephen Howes and Joann Hunt through their attorney Michael Meloy last week withdrew their motion for a temporary injunction seeking to halt the conveyance of the property. It was accepted and Judge Patrick McLyea who iwill be filing an order soon to set the hearing on the suit as well as some deadlines preparing for it.

The YWCA plans to build a supportive housing facility on the property to help people experiencing homelessness.
