Weather forecast: When will the next heatwave hit the UK with temperatures expected to reach 30C?

It’s set to get sizzling, as next month is expected to bring scorching temperatures of up to 30C with potential heatwave conditions to affect the entire country. Get those sunnies out!

The first week of July is set to have several days where the mercury is could nudge into the high 20s, and, it will not be long before temperatures reach heatwave conditions.

On Friday July 8, the temperature is expected to go as high as the 26C in some areas of the UK.

Britain is expected to be hit by a heatwave over the weekend, with temperatures likely to reach the mid-30Cs by the middle of next week and forecasters say the mercury could touch 35C by mid-July.

The warm spell is expected to continue through much of next week and the following weekend, especially in the south of England, and a level 2 heat health alert has been issued for southern and eastern areas.

“We’re at the start of a stretch of warm weather for much of England and Wales that could last for much of next week,” said the Met Office’s deputy chief meteorologist, David Oliver.

Leon Brown of forecaster The Weather Company said: “More heatwaves imported from the continent to the UK are forecast this summer.

“Each are reaching at least 28C - and likely higher - and each lasting several days.”
