Next of Kin viewers confused by the timeline... again

There's no denying that ITV's latest drama Next of Kin is drawing in a loyal fanbase, but there's one thing about the series that seems to be distracting everyone. Again.

Sure, the admittedly "gripping" drama, starring Archie Panjabi and Jack Davenport, might be captivating audiences with its intrigue and stellar performances, but it's not just the plot that's twisting and turning: it's the timeline, too.

In today's (January 22) episode, viewers were left bemused once again by how rapidly the storylines seemed to progress – something that the first episode was also criticised for.

Particularly baffling this time was the rate at which Mona (Archie Punjabi) recovered after being shot and left for dead in last week's instalment, and with pretty much no mention of her injury.

"Is Mona part-wolverine?" one person (quite rightly) questioned.
