Next of Kin viewers notice a massive plot hole
ITV premiered the first episode of its big new drama Next of Kin tonight (January 8), hoping that its acclaimed cast (Jack Davenport, Archie Panjabi and more) and mystery set-up would equal a surefire winner.
But unfortunately, the biggest talking point on Twitter was about the time.
The first part of tonight's episode focused on a man named Kareem planning to return home from Pakistan to London to see his family for the first time in ages. We see him on the phone to one of his family members while he is on his way to the airport.
Shortly after that phone call ends, his family are all planning a surprise party and hiding behind the furniture waiting for him to walk through the door.
Viewers were utterly baffled by how anyone could expect someone to travel from Pakistan to London within just a few hours, and then, when Kareem gets kidnapped in Pakistan, the police know about it almost instantly:
So, in #NextofKin, they are setting the table for dinner for a guest who hasn't even boarded his flight in Pakistan? How's that work?

I'll admit, I'm only half watching but are they expecting his flight from Pakistan to be at supersonic speed? Otherwise they have vastly overestimated the time it takes to set up a party #NextOfKin

Need to know which airline flies Pakistan to London in around two hours...timings very off in #nextofkin @ITV
