'Crisis on Infinite Earths' will be the Arrowverse's next major crossover event in 2019, as confirmed in an announcement at the end of Elseworlds.

The next crossover is dated for fall 2019, and it's likely that it will air in November or early December, as previous crossovers have.

It's also likely that DC's Legends of Tomorrow will join the cast of Supergirl, Arrow, and The Flash in the event.

'Crisis on Infinite Earths' – and Barry Allen's death in it – was originally teased for 2024, in a newspaper dated for April 2024 that has appeared repeatedly on The Flash.

When he was asked by ComicBook.com whether he knew how and when he'd pay off the teases, The Flash showrunner Todd Helbing said "Yeah. But that's all I can say.

"Greg [Berlanti] really has a sort of master plan of things, and I’m really excited about how it’s going to pay off."

On seeing some of 'Crisis' playing out, Grant Gustin added: "It is really fulfilling.

"I hope we can stick around long enough to see what's going on with that newspaper article.

"We'd have to make it four more seasons, five more seasons. It's cool, though. It feels like it's earned."

The Elseworlds crossover aired on The CW in the US and on Sky One in the UK.
