‘NFL on CBS’ Hits Network Viewership Highs With Week 7 Game as Taylor Swift Continues to Cheer on Kansas City Chiefs
“NFL on CBS” scored strong viewership numbers with its Week 7 telecast, CBS says.
As the Kansas City Chiefs took home another win this week, taking down the Los Angeles Chargers 17-31, the National Game delivered a historic high as CBS’ most-watched Week 7 game window in 10 Years with nearly 24.4 million viewers and was the most-watched program of the week on any network.

It also marks the most-watched week 7 regional game since 1998, when NFL programming originally returned to CBS, with almost 16 million viewers thanks in part due to the Bills-Patriots game, which took place at 1 p.m. ET. With Sunday’s double header, the network averaged 19.732 million viewers for the evening.

In comparison, the Kansas City Chiefs Week 5 game vs. the New York Jets averaged approximately 27 million viewers on NBC across Peacock, NBC Sports Digital, and NFL Digital platforms and national TV household rating of 12.9/35. Viewership peaked at an estimated 29.4 million viewers between 9:30-9:45 p.m. ET as the Jets climbed their way within eight points of the Chiefs in the second quarter of the game.
The Week 7 game marked Taylor Swift’s return to Arrowhead Stadium as she continues to show support for Travis Kelce amid their reported romance. The “Cruel Summer” singer previously showed up to cheer on the Chiefs in their previous face off against the Denver Broncos on Oct. 12 amid her own busy schedule as she prepared for the premiere of her “Eras Tour” film. The singer was present for the LA premiere, which took place on Oct. 13 in LA, along with a slew of other notable stars including Beyoncé, Adam Sandler, Julia Garner, Maren Morris, among other names.
