Carolina Panthers vs Tampa Bay Buccaneers
NFL regular season Week 6
Venue: Tottenham Hotspur Stadium
Kick-off: 2:30pm BST

The NFC South comes to Tottenham Hotspur Stadium today as the 2019 NFL London series continues with a divisional showdown between the Carolina Panthers and Tampa Bay Buccaneers.

These familiar rivals have a lot to live up to after the first American football contest to be held at Spurs' state-of-the-art venue on Sunday proved to be an unexpected thriller as the Oakland Raiders struck late to defuse an epic Chicago Bears comeback.

The 3-2 Panthers - who have never previously visited the UK - arrive in London for Efe Obada's homecoming riding a Kyle Allen-led three-game winning streak after consecutive victories over the Arizona Cardinals, Houston Texans and Jacksonville Jaguars that came without franchise quarterback Cam Newton, who continues to rehab his injured foot.

Carolina opened the season with back-to-back losses - the second against a Bucs team that possess the only defense thus far in 2019 that have been able to shut down early MVP-candidate running back Christian McCaffrey, who leads the NFL in rushing yards and total yards from scrimmage and is second only to Aaron Jones in touchdowns.

Sunday's designated 'home' team, Tampa Bay are making their third trip across the Atlantic and first for eight years after defeats to the New England Patriots and Bears in 2009 and 2011 respectively.

The Bucs have endured a mixed season to date under new head coach Bruce Arians, beating the Panthers and dropping 50 points on the Rams in Los Angeles while also losing to the undefeated San Francisco 49ers and falling foul of Daniel Jones on his New York Giants debut.

Last week, they went down 31-24 to the Teddy Bridgewater-led New Orleans Saints at the Superdome after failing to contain either Michael Thomas or Alvin Kamara.

While their offense is loaded with playmakers such as Mike Evans, Chris Godwin and OJ Howard and Todd Bowles has made strides with the defense thanks to sack leader Shaquil Barrett, quarterback Jameis Winston remains a decidedly week-to-week proposition.

Prediction

The Bucs had Carolina's number on Thursday night in Week 2, but it is nigh-on impossible to see them keeping McCaffrey so quiet once again.

Allen has looked a little less secure under centre over the last couple of weeks, yet the Panthers' defense has been very impressive with first-year linebacker Brian Burns outlining his early case to be named as defensive rookie of the year.

Winston could just as easily throw multiple interceptions as touchdowns and if he has one of his many bad days, Carolina will feast.

Panthers to win.
