A Co Derry coach company have rallied behind the family of a former employee who is on life support after a "devastating accident" abroad.

Ryan Daly had embarked on an "adventure of a lifetime" as he set off travelling the world when he was injured in Thailand, suffering fatal injuries.

J&K Coaches, where the 27-year-old used to work as an Ambulance Care Attendant, have launched a fundraiser to support his mother and sister, who also work in the company, as they face this "unthinkable ordeal".

The fundraising page reads: "Ryan Daly, a former employee of our company, embarked on the adventure of a lifetime at 27 years old, pursuing his dream of travelling the world.

"One of his stops was in Thailand, a breathtaking country rich with unforgettable experiences.

"Tragically, Ryan was involved in a devastating accident this week and is now on life support in Thailand. His mother, Julie, and sister, Lucy, received the heartbreaking news of his critical condition, with little hope for recovery.

"They have travelled to be by his side, but his injuries are sadly fatal - an unthinkable ordeal for any family.

"In response, we have created this fundraising page to offer support to Julie and Lucy, and we’re reaching out to you—our community, followers, and clients—to help us provide the assistance they need."

The page has raised over £15k of its £20k target in less than one day and J&K Coaches told Belfast Live they are "completely blown away from everyone's generosity" as their main focus remains on supporting the Daly family and providing them comfort to focus on Ryan.

The Just Giving page continued: "Ryan, who worked as an Ambulance Care Attendant in our J&K Ambulance department, shared a deep dedication to patient care alongside his mum and sister.

"He was known for his kindness, compassion, and unwavering commitment to helping others.

"Now, Ryan is in need of care, and Julie and Lucy need our support.

"Your contribution, no matter the size, can make a meaningful difference. Please join us in standing with the Daly family during this heart-wrenching time."
