NI MLA praises hospital staff as husband recovers in ICU

The DUP's Junior Minister Pam Cameron has praised hospital staff for the care they have given her husband Michael as he recovers in ICU following a cardiac operation.

The South Antrim MLA's playwright husband was admitted to hospital with heart complications in the days following the death of his mother in July.

Posting on Facebook, Pam Cameron thanked the staff at the Antrim Area and Royal Victoria Hospitals.

"[Michael] has had his heart operation yesterday and is currently in intensive care. He is doing very well but not able to respond to calls/mesaages," she posted.

"Thank you to the very many of you who care and have been in contact with both of us over what has been a difficult 5 weeks.

"The staff of both Antrim Area and Royal Victoria Hospitals have been incredible."
