Niall Horan: 'Performing at One Love Manchester is the least I can do'

Niall Horan has opened up about his upcoming performance at One Love Manchester on Sunday night, with the One Direction star jumping at the chance to take part in the benefit concert, which is in aid of the victims of the Manchester terrorist attack.

The 23-year-old singer immediately said yes when his close friend Ariana Grande asked him to perform, and he has now added that it’s the least he could do.

Speaking on Sirius XM Hits, Niall explained: “It’s a terrible thing that happened, but I’m glad that Ariana can pull some of her friends together and get up on stage and raise some needed money for the victims of a terrible attack.

“I guess that’s the least we can do as artists, is get up there and sing a few songs and try and put some smiles on faces in that part of the world.”

Speaking about Manchester in general, the star was full of praise, sharing: “The crowds up there are unbelievable. Some of the best gigs you’ll do are in Manchester.”

The concert will take place on Sunday.

Niall’s comments come after it was reported that tickets to benefit concert sold out in just six minutes, with concertgoers keen to show their support with all profits from the gig going towards the Red Cross Manchester Emergency Fund.

Those who were at Ariana Grande’s gig at Manchester Arena on May 22 have been given free tickets to Sunday’s show, which will also have performances from the likes of Justin Bieber, Miley Cyrus and Take That.

It is also believed that Ariana will spend time with some of the victims from Monday’s attack, with the star being left “traumatised” when suicide bomber Salman Abedi detonated a homemade nail bomb at the arena after she finished her sold-out concert.

Ariana was desperate to help the victims of the attack.

Countless people were left with serious injuries following the attack and 22 lives were lost.

Tweeting at the time, Ariana admitted that she was “broken” and “so, so sorry” for what had happened, with many of her famous pals reaching out to publicly offer their support.
