The BNP are gathering in Parkgate in the town centre to demand a public inquiry into the scandal, in which at least 1,400 young girls from the town were abused over many years, mainly by residents of Pakistani descent. BNP President Nick Griffin was charged with "using words or behaviour intended or likely to stir up racial hatred" in 2004 when he spoke out about "grooming", as well as other subjects. The programme's host -- who sitcom spin doctor Malcolm Tucker described as "that big rubbery horse-face of mock incredulity" -- is finally bowing out of presenting the BBC Two news analysis programme after 25 years at the helm and will present his final edition on Wednesday evening. And, as a goodbye gift, the Newsnight team put Paxman with one of his regular on-air adversaries the Mayor of London Boris Johnson, on a bicycle made for two. Who are Britain First? The Far-Right Party 'Invading' Mosques Tue, May 20, 2014

Britain First, a far-right group who describe themselves as a "patriotic political movement" made a minor dent in the mainstream following their most recent "invasion" of a mosque. The "invasion" – which is how Britain First described the incident on their official Facebook page – ended after a community support officer had noticed the group had parked illegally outside the mosque, forcing the members to drive away in their car. Described by Hope Not Hate as "probably the only group experiencing growth on the far-right", Britain First has attracted attention in 2014 because of the mosque "invasions" and their so-called "Christian Patrols" which they conducted around east London. Despite using Snatch Land Rovers during the patrols and dressing in matching green uniforms, described as "activist jackets" by the party, Britain First denied they intended to intimidate people with their actions. BNP Leader Nick Griffin Slurred 'Jews and Paki' Police Officers While … Wed, May 7, 2014

British National Party leader Nick Griffin hailed police officers searching his home for not being "Jews or Pakis" like their colleagues in London. The anti-Semitic transcripts and reports were revealed by a Freedom of Information request and published by the Guardian. BNP leader Griffin is fighting for re-election as an MEP in this month's EU vote, which may explain the timing of the report by the Guardian. Griffin provided insights about his political philosophy during a police interview on the same day by reciting a 14-word mantra popular with Neo-Nazis in the United States: 'We must secure the existence of our race and a future for white children.' Special Report - From Hungary, far-right party spreads ideology, tactics Wed, Apr 9, 2014

By Marcin Goettig and Christian Lowe WARSAW (Reuters) - In a rented public hall not far from Poland's parliament, about 150 people gathered one afternoon late last year to hear speeches by a collection of far-right leaders from around Europe. The event was organised by Ruch Narodowy, or National Movement, a Polish organisation that opposes foreign influences, views homosexuality as an illness and believes Poland is threatened by a leftist revolution hatched in Brussels. Chief attraction was Marton Gyongyosi, one of the leaders of Hungarian far-right party Jobbik. In a 20-minute speech, Gyongyosi addressed the crowd, mostly men in their thirties and forties, as "our Polish brothers," and railed against globalisation, environmentalists, socialists, and what he called a cabal of Western economic interests. Simon Darby made the seemingly baseless claim as he went head-to-head with BBC Sunday Politics presenter Andrew Neil. Griffin's interjection almost caused the case to collapse but when Neil asked Darby why Griffin refused to be interviewed, the BNP spokesman said his leader was in Syria playing an integral role in stopping Britain going to war: More »
