Radio 1 DJ Nick Grimshaw has reportedly found love with a dancer 12 years his junior after quitting the Breakfast Show gave him more time to start dating again.

Reports claim that Grimshaw, who left the flagship show in August for the Drivetime slot, is apparently romancing dancer Meshach Henry, 22, on a series of dates.

A source told The Sun: “Nick has found dating quite tough in recent years because of his job.

“But he met Meshach — who’s called Mesh by his pals — a few months ago and although it’s still early days they are really enjoying their time together.

“They are taking things easy and not putting any pressure on anything. Nick really likes him, and his friends are thrilled he has found someone who makes him happy.”

According to reports, the pair celebrated Henry's recent birthday with some time away in Oxfordshire. Henry posted an intimate bath snap on his social media, believed to have been taken by Grimshaw.

Standard Online has contacted representatives for Grimshaw for comment.

During the countdown to his final morning show, Grimshaw, 34, revealed that the early starts had taken a toll on his love life during his six year stint.

He said that stepping down and moving to an afternoon slot would allow him to start dating again and potentially find love.

Grimshaw told the Daily Mirror: “I think I will have more time to put my life first.

"I have committed to this show, especially the last year, and I have put my head down. But now I can go for dates with people and the new show will help.

“I have been trying to date people, but you don’t want to ‘day date’ and even two weeks ago, I went on a date and then he said, ‘do you want to go to the cinema, it’s at 8.20pm?’

“And I was thinking, ‘8.20, arrggh the film won’t start until ten-to-nine so it won’t finish before 11’ so home and asleep at midnight and that is if I fall asleep straight away.”
