DIY SOS star Nick Knowles caused a stir on social media when he fired off 40 heated tweets following a visit to a Cheltenham cafe. Back in 2018 Nick visited the Curious Cafe but was told he needed to wait an hour for a sandwich.

That left the TV presenter furious, reports the Express. Taking to Twitter to vent his frustration, he said: "I'm surprised anyone in the food business would think asking any customers to wait an hour for food is OK."

The Curious Cafe addressed the matter pointing out its small kitchen and two-person chef team but reassured that their offerings are "the highest of quality".

Mr Knowles, who decided against waiting for his food, commented online, suggesting that the cafe might benefit from rethinking its layout. He said: "Yes, I can see that and people love the place but tables were free. Perhaps less tables and more prep space solution?"

In defence, the cafe explained that their outside seating was fully occupied and until they can expand their cooking area, some delays during busy periods are unavoidable. The cafe said: "It's our customers' decisions if they choose to stay. Luckily most do due to the quality and taste of our food. We are very lucky to have a supportive community."

This isn't the first time that Nick Knowles has complained about waitin times, having previously moaned about the wait for a bacon sandwich at another venue before. Nick is participating in this year's edition of Strictly Come Dancing, though not everyone appreciated his recent social media rant about the cafe.

One person said: "Television doesn't mean you can jump the wait on food". Nick said this was an "easy insult to throw", but he later addressed the issue.

He said: "Feel sorry for the cafe as attacks on me make it worse for them and that's not fair. I'm told it's good food and nice people."

The cafe explained that they do inform customers of wait times, saying: "Therefore a wait does happen. We make sure to tell our customers if there is a 30-minute or more wait on food. Then it is your own decision if you choose to stay."
