Is Nicki Minaj dating fellow rapper Eminem? Pop star appears to confirm rumoured romance

Nicki Minaj has appeared to confirm that she is dating fellow rapper and frequent collaborator Eminem.

The US pop star, 35, responded to a Twitter follower who asked if she was dating the star by simply responding “yes” on Friday.

Minaj has been known to tease her dedicated Twitter following in the past, so some fans decided to take her ‘admission’ with a pinch of salt, while others seemed shocked at the unlikely union.

“Nicki and Eminem are the weirdest celebrity couple ever. I refuse to believe it,” one person wrote on the social media site.

“First Elon Musk and Grimes.. now Nicki and Eminem?? We really are living in a simulation,” wrote another.

Eminem features on Minaj’s latest single, Big Yank, alongside 2 Chainz, Big Sean and YG.

One of Minaj’s lyrics, reads: “Uh oh/Back again/Back to back Maybach, stack the M's/Told em' I met Slim Shady, bag the M/Once he go black, he'll be back again.”

Minaj was engaged to rapper Meek Mill but announced the end of their two-year relationship in January 2017.

She recently told Ellen DeGeneres that she was putting dating on the backburner for the foreseeable future after a string of failed relationships.

“I'm just chilling right now, I'm celibate. I wanted to go a year without dating any men, I hate men,” she said.

Eminem recently joked that he was using Tinder to try and find live in a recent interview, telling Vulture: “It's tough. Since my divorce I've had a few dates and nothing's panned out in a way that I wanted to make it public. Dating's just not where I'm at lately.”

He added: “What can I say? Going to strip clubs is how I was meeting some chicks. It was an interesting time for me."
