Nicola Roberts' Pug Is Having His Eye Removed

Poor Nicola Roberts has admitted that she is feeling a little bit down in the dumps today after dropping her beloved pug Ronnie off at the vets.

Revealing that the poor pup is having his eye removed in grueling but life-saving surgery, Nicola opened up about her pet’s cancer diagnosis in a heartfelt Instagram post.

Sharing a gorgeous snapshot of little Ronnie, the flame-haired singer explained: “Feeling sad.. This is my last picture of Ronnie with two eyes.. I dropped him at the hospital this morning and realised I’m never going to see him look the same again.

"I found out just after new year that he had cancer so in order to save his life we have to remove his tumour and his eye too.. He’s so handsome, it’s such a shame but I’m thankful that it’s just his eye we have to lose and not him.

"Next time you see him he will have an eye patch, like he’s a pirate I stole from sea. Plus, he’s such a ladies man, I wonder if this is going to affect his confidence.”

N'aww, we’re sure he’ll be just as much of a ladies man when he is one eye down, Nic.

Fans were quick to offer Nicola their love and support in the comments section of the post, with one writing: “I think in situations like this we just have to be thankful that he is well loved and cared for. A blessed creature whose owner will do anything for him. One eye less does not compare to what he has in his life.”
