As fans and stars continue to pay their respects and share fond memories of the musical genius, Nicole has spoken about how Prince impacted on her life.

The actress told Entertainment Weekly: “I basically grew up to his music.

“I think I had my first kiss, first love, first of a lot of stuff while listening to Prince. A lot of firsts. My friends and I would go out to clubs in Australia and when ‘When Doves Cry’ would come on, we’d hear that guitar, and we’d be up in a split second and dancing.”

Nicole, who met Prince and saw him perform live, covered his iconic track ‘Kiss’ when she played Norma Jean in 2006 film ‘Happy Feet’.
