Nicole Scherzinger 'has sacrificed having a family for career'

X Factor star Nicole Scherzinger says she’s an incurable workaholic – and it’s scuppered her chances of having a family.

Speaking ahead of the Judges’ Houses stage in the TV talent show, the 38-year-old singer opened up about her past relationships, claiming they’ve all failed because of her career.

“It’s a sacrifice when you put your work and put your heart and everything into your job,” Nicole explained. “I’ve absolutely missed out on things in life. Relationships suffer from it.

“Look at me. I’m not married and I haven’t got kids yet. But I’m still like, ‘let’s go’. Every time I call my mother she’s like, ‘Oh, is this my daughter calling?’ I’m like, ‘really mum?’”

“You are in a zone and you put all your attention in, so other things do suffer sometimes.”

Nicole was left heartbroken earlier in the year when her relationship with Formula One star Lewis Hamilton collapsed. The pair had been together for seven years.

The star is now dating Bulgarian toyboy tennis ace Grigor Dimitrov, who’s just 24. But despite the age gap, the ex-Pussycat Doll is optimistic of having kids one day.

“I see a vision of what I want and I’m going to the top of that mountain,” she explains. “When I get there I’ll have time for a family and kids and all that jazz.

“I feel that the good thing with getting older is you are able to find more of a balance. But I haven’t even skimmed the surface of what I’m capable of creating and what I know I was born for.”
