Nicole Scherzinger ‘in the studio’ with Black Eyed Peas

She was the original choice to front the Black Eyed Peas, but after turning them down over a decade ago, Nicole Scherzinger has had a change of heart and joined the band for an all-new collaboration, according to reports.

The X Factor judge, 38, was previously approached and offered a position in the band, but Scherzy declined the offer to be will.i.am’s sidekick and rose to fame as the lead singer of the Pussycat Dolls instead.

But now Nicole wants back in, as she has reportedly been hitting the studio for some midnight sessions with will.i.am and his fellow band members Fergie, apl.de.ap, and Taboo to record a major club banger.

“Nicole met all four members and was laying down vocals until the early house. She was singing about “feeling the fire” and “wanting her way like a holiday,” a source told The Sun.

While the apparent lyrics don’t reveal too much at this early stage, it is believed that the Boomerang singer used her new relationship with tennis star Grigor Dimitrov as her muse, proving she is over ex-boyfriend Lewis Hamilton.

“It was a very different direction for Nic compared to the soppy ballads on her last two album flops. She’s over her heartbreak with Lewis Hamilton and that showed. It’s a massive dancefloor filler,” the insider added.

Nicole and the rest of the group were spotted at Metropolis Studios in Chiswick, West London, on Monday – which is the same studio that Adele recorded her hit album 25, but all other details remain top secret.

However it has been reported that “there are no plans for a release just yet,” so we might have to wait a while until we can start throwing some shapes along to the new anthem. No harm in practicing though!
