Nigel Farage had a milkshake thrown over him as he spent his first day as Reform UK leader campaigning. Large crowds turned out in the seaside town of Clacton to see him as he started his campaign to be the new MP there.

But as he left the Moon and Starfish, a woman went up to him and threw a banana coloured milkshake over his head. The former MEP had been speaking to reporters in the pub after his rally at Clacton Pier. He was seen with the drink, which appeared to be milkshake, splattered over his suit as he boarded his campaign bus.

It is not the first time he has been targeted with the milk drink. In 2019, a man who doused Mr Farage with a £5.25 banana and salted caramel drink was ordered to pay the Brexit party leader’s suit-cleaning bill. He was sacked by his employers Sky and needed police protection after the high-profile “milkshaking”.

Mr Farage's campaign launch in the Essex seat on Tuesday came after he yesterday performed a stunning U-turn on his previous decision not to stand for Parliament. The 60-year-old has made a dramatic return to the political frontline and also been installed as Reform UK leader in place of Richard Tice.
