Nigel Farage mocked after wearing short shorts during Facebook Live session

Nigel Farage has been mocked online for wearing excruciatingly short shorts whilst speaking via Facebook Live.

While the controversial politician and Brexiteer appeared on a live stream to discuss the ongoing coronavirus pandemic and the government's response, viewers were quick to point out his choice of attire: a pair of eye-wateringly tight shorts.

Since, Twitter has been inundated with jokes regarding the startling sight and the politician's 'relaxed' approach - with some inevitable comparisons to Alan Partridge. Further comments also questioned Mr Farage's home decor.

On the Facebook Live stream, one person commented: "Good Lord, Nigel! Why the crotch shot? Zoom in a little, would you? Too much information!"

Mr Farage was sipping a glass of red wine and said "we are all locked down" so "there isn't much else to do" before holding a Q&A on Facebook Live.

He discussed the power "vacuum" left as Boris Johnson remains in intensive care, and wished the Prime Minister a speedy recovery, before criticising the Government's strategic choices.

The Eurosceptic revealed it was "making his blood boil" that criticism of China was being dismissed as racist by “lapdogs in the Western media”.

“They are looking to take over the world in their own way,” he warned, adding that China was poised to swoop following a “fire sale” of British businesses.

However, Mr Farage's combination of shorts and a maroon top proved a greater talking point.

One person said: "[sic] Those shorts are a tad risk."

Another added: "When big Nige forgets his PE kit and the teacher sends him to lost property."

During the Facebook Live, Mr Farage also called for Matt Hancock to be fired, and reassured viewers that his sniffling was not coronavirus, but just hay fever.
