'No 9 to 5 here... best bid takes em' - Bragging teen flogged luxury cars and Louis Vuitton on Snapchat
A teenager who stole high value cars and then tried to flog them on Snapchat has been jailed.
Corey Rodgers, 19, stole the cars during a string of burglaries between April and June this year in which he stole the car keys from homes across South and West Yorkshire and used them to take the cars - including Mercedes and BMWs. He then marketed his stolen goods on the social media app.
Rodgers, of Wordsworth Avenue in Sheffield, also stole other items including a Louis Vuitton handbag. He had been released from prison in February this year and had tried to evade justice by cutting off his electronic tag. South Yorkshire Police arrested him in June and a phone was seized from his address.

The phone was examined and a Snapchat account associated with Rodgers contained two videos which had been sent to a group named "no 9-5 here 2.0" showing vehicles he had stolen and the message: "Best bid takes em [sic]..."
A number of tools commonly used in burglaries were also found at Rodgers' home. He went on to plead guilty to 10 counts of burglary dwelling, theft, handling stolen good and driving while disqualified. He also admitted a further ten burglaries to be taken into consideration and was jailed for three years and six months when he appeared at Sheffield Crown Court earlier in September.
Rodgers was also disqualified from driving for two years and eight months.
Detective Sergeant Thomas Jordan, of the Sheffield Neighbourhood Crime Team at South Yorkshire Police, said: “Rodgers has caused untold harm across South Yorkshire and showed a complete lack of remorse by bragging about his actions on social media. He also attempted to profit from his crimes by offering vehicles to the highest bidder.
“Burglary leaves a lasting toll on its victims, who are often made to feel unsafe in their own homes. As shown by this result, we will work tirelessly to investigate every report of burglary across South Yorkshire and bring offenders to justice.
“I hope Rodgers’ sentence now means his many victims can begin to draw a line under their ordeal.”
