No Cold or Wet Feet For This Bride During New Orleans Flash Flood

A little flash flood in New Orleans, Louisiana, didn’t stop a bride from getting to her wedding on Friday, May 18. The bride was carried into Preservation Hall by a group of men so her wedding dress wouldn’t get ruined.

Sapphire Events, a company of wedding planners, captured this footage. Valerie Gernhauser, the company’s owner, said the bridal party decided to forget about an outdoor ceremony and carry on indoors.

“We grabbed every bottle of champagne we could carry through the rain and served the guests inside the Preservation Hall while we waited for the rain to subside. When the water started rising and it became apparent the rain would not let up for some time, we decided to proceed with the ceremony,” Gernhauser told Storyful News.
