'There Is No House That Has Not Been Touched': Severe Flooding Hits Sardinian Town of Bitti

At least three people were killed and two others were missing after heavy rain caused severe flooding in Sardinia, Italy, on November 28, local media reported.

The Italian fire brigade, along with volunteers, spent the night clearing the streets of Bitti, one of the towns worst hit by the flooding, according to the Italian national news agency ANSA.

“There is no house that has not been touched from the mud, and all the families are busy cleaning,” said Cristian Farina, Councilor for the Environment of the Municipality, to ANSA. “We are urgently intervening on the roads in the countryside where many farmers got stuck… we recommend that everyone not come to Bitti except for emergencies.” Credit: Vigili del Fuoco via Storyful
