No One in London Was More Enthusiastic About NHS Tribute Than Cymbal-Bashing Dutch Ambassador

People across the UK clapped at 8 pm on April 2 in tribute to health workers battling the coronavirus pandemic, and nowhere was this tribute more evident than at the residence of the Dutch ambassador in London.

“I think I’m the only one on the street, but never mind, this is for the NHS!” the ambassador, Simon Smits, exclaimed, before bashing cymbals together above his head in a celebratory cacophony. Credit: Dutch Ambassador UK via Storyful
