Noel Fielding will be taking some time away from the Great British Bake Off tent to play a hard rock legend in an upcoming Sky Arts series.

He's signed up, alongside several other top comedians, to star in more of Sky Arts' Urban Myths - the show which got in trouble last year for casting white actor Joseph Fiennes as Michael Jackson in one of its comedy biopics.

The latest series will probably be a bit less controversial, as it sends up some of the most bizarre moments in rock history. Take for instance, Urban Myths: When Bowie Met Bolan.

Bad Education's Freddy Syborn has penned a comedy about David Bowie (Luke Treadaway) striking up a friendship with T Rex's Marc Bolan (Jack Whitehall) while painting their shared manager's (Ade Edmondson) office, years before their success.

Urban Myths: The Dali and The Cooper tells the story of shock rocker Alice Cooper befriending famously eccentric artist Salvador Dali in 1973, when asked to attend a bizarre dinner party at his home.

Poirot's David Suchet will be playing Dali, while Noel Fielding has been perfectly cast as Alice Cooper for the comedy written by The Thick of It and Veep's Roger Drew and Ed Dyson.

Lastly, Urban Myths: Public Enemy (feat. Kev Wells) strands the pioneering hip-hop group in Broomhill of all places after being ditched by their tour bus. Luckily, local resident Kev Wells (Philip Glenister) and his Ford Focus come to their rescue.

This special has cast Paterson Joseph as Public Enemy's frontman Chuck D and Abdul Salis as notorious hype man Flavor Flav, in a script from SunTrap's Neil Webster.
