Noisy driver with 'extremely loud exhaust' has car seized for police to check on 'undeclared mods'
A driver has had his noisy car seized for the second time after making undeclared modifications.
Redcar police officers confiscated this car after it was issued with a Section 59 notice - these are given to drivers of vehicles being used in a manner which causes alarm, distress or annoyance. The vehicle owner has now had the vehicle seized for the second time due to being issued three such notices in less than 12 months.
The car has also being checked over by a vehicle examiner as modifications - which have led to an extremely loud exhaust, say police - have not been disclosed to the insurance company and this could lead to consequences for the policy holder.
A spokesperson for Cleveland Police said: "We will continue to take action against the use of antisocial or illegal vehicles on our roads."
