Non-EastEnders' fan gets giant tattoo of Ian Beale's 'ugly crying face'

We all know that Kim Kardashian is famed for her “ugly crying face”, but she might need to step aside as there’s a new ugly cryer in town, in the form of EastEnders’ actor Adam Woodyatt.

Adam plays Ian Beale in the BBC One soap and a 24-year-old carer was left so tickled by his ugly crying face in an episode of the show that he got it permanently inked on his skin.

And the kicker? He isn’t even an EastEnders’ fan.

Luke Evangelou has revealed that he now sends Adam daily pictures of the tattoo in a bid to add his autograph to the inking, however, the actor is yet to acknowledge his dedication.

Speaking to The Sun, Luke explained: “I thought it would be funny. It doesn’t bother me that it’s on me for life. I remember watching that episode and I thought he looked funny.

“I don’t really watch EastEnders but I know that episode. I wondered how many takes it took.

“It is such an ugly crying face. The other actor must have been p**sing himself.

“Once I had it I thought it would be funny to go on Twitter to get the actor’s attention. I’m sending the picture to him every day. When it finished at midnight that’s when I started messaging him.

“Everyone knows the episode and the face. I want him to see it and then sign the tattoo and then I will get that tattooed as well.

“If he sees it and hates it then at least he would have seen it. It is just a bit of a joke that got out of hand.”

Luke’s girlfriend, Hayley, admitted that she thinks the tattoo is “ridiculous”, but both she and her partner are impressed with the level of detail in the tat.

Luke continued: “I’ve put a lot of thought into this. It’s such a stupid tattoo but it’s been done good. It isn’t just a s**t tattoo. He made it really highly detailed. It was so much effort.

“My girlfriend thinks it’s stupid but she didn’t even react. She wasn’t mad but I’ve had a disgusting reaction from everyone else.”

The episode that brought us Ian’s ugly cry face first aired in April 2014 as the character tried to come to terms with the shock murder of his daughter, Lucy.
