Norfolk Police Use Drone to Locate Missing Man Lost in Marsh

Norfolk police used a drone to locate and rescue a 75-year-old man just in time for Father’s Day on June 17 after he became separated from his family on an evening walk and got lost in the marshes near Brancaster overnight.

Norfolk police said they were assisted by HM Coastguard, RNLI Hunstanton, RNLI Wells Lifeboat and Norfolk Lowland and Search Service.

“The team pulled Peter [Pugh] from a deep muddy creek before providing first aid until the Coastguard rescue helicopter arrived to winch him out. Peter was then taken by air ambulance to the Queen Elizabeth Hospital in Kings Lynn where he is being treated for hypothermia,” said the police. Credit: Norfolk Police via Storyful
