The 'normal' name that William and Kate's children go by at school
The Prince and Princess of Wales have just seen their three children begin a new school year and the names they go by at school, to help them feel like normal children, might surprise you. Princes George and Louis, and their sister Princess Charlotte, all currently attend independent prep school, Lambrook School, in Bracknell, Berkshire.
George has just started Year 7, Charlotte is now in Year 5, and Louis has just moved up into Year 2. One strategy used by their parents to help the youngsters feel like normal children at school is for them not to be referred to by their Royal titles. Instead, they simply go by George Wales, Charlotte Wales, and Louis Wales, reports the Daily Express.
The 'surname' is a nod to the Royal titles bestowed upon their parents by King Charles III, after Queen Elizabeth II died two years ago. And 'Wales' is also the surname William and Harry used in their own school days, as well as through their military training, when it was the title of their father, now the King.

It has also been revealed that the Royal couple shares responsibility of the school run, with at least one of them striving to drop the kids off at school every day.
Rebecca English, the Daily Mail's Royal Correspondent, wrote this week: "Public appearances of the youngsters are made on their terms only, largely unannounced in advance, if and when the children feel comfortable.
"Indeed, where possible, at least one of the parents drops off the children at school each day, and both are frequently in attendance together on the sidelines at football and cricket matches, or cheering the 'kiddies' on in the pool or in dance recitals."
The efforts made by Kate Middleton and Prince William to maintain a sense of normality for their children are often praised, and contribute to their natural interaction in videos - such as the one released this week announcing the end of Princess Kate's chemotherapy treatment.
The unusual sight of the royals behaving like an ordinary upper-middle-class family is a refreshing change, as the Royal Family seeks to modernise, according to a body language expert.
Despite the extraordinary nature of their existence, marked by global intrigue and constant public engagements, the footage offered a slice of normalcy that is seldom seen or appreciated.
As we watched Prince Louis clamber over logs, Princess Charlotte engage with playing cards, and the future King and Queen casually entwined on the ground, it was a rare insight into a family navigating a deeply challenging time under the relentless gaze of the world.
Judi James, body language expert, told the Express: "Often what the royals have been keeping masked from the public is drama, acrimony, marital splits, or arranged marriages of convenience.
"Behind the closed doors of the Wales's, though, there are clearly astounding amounts of fun, happiness, and the strongest bonds of love."
