North Belfast house extensively damaged following arson attack
A home in North Belfast has suffered extensive damage after being targeted in an arson attack yesterday evening.
Police are appealing for information following the incident which took place at a house in the Summer Street area of the city at around 9.30pm on Saturday, February 1.
It was reported that an object was thrown through the living room window of the property before starting a fire, with extensive damage being done to the room and front windows of the property.

It is not believed that anyone was inside the property at the time of the arson attack.
Detective Sergeant Faulkner said: “Shortly after 9:30pm, it was reported that an object was thrown through the living room of a property in the area causing a fire to start. Extensive damage was caused to the room following the incident, as well as the front windows of the property. At this stage, it is not believed that anyone was inside the property, as colleagues from Northern Ireland Fire & Rescue Service attended the fire.
“Enquiries are continuing to establish the circumstances surrounding the incident but at this stage, the fire is being treated as deliberate ignition.
“Police are appealing to anyone with any information in relation to the incident, to contact detectives on 101 quoting reference number 1585 01/02/25.
