North Carolina Police Officers Begin Bike Ride to DC in Honor of Fallen Colleagues

Police officers from North Carolina set out on a four-day bike ride from Charlotte to Washington DC in honor of their fallen colleagues on May 9, the Mecklenburg County District Attorney’s Office said.

The bikers are scheduled to arrive in Washington on May 12, where they will hold a candlelight vigil, according to organizers.

The annual 500-mile ride is held this year in honor of fallen officers from the Mooresville Police Department, the Charlotte-Mecklenburg Police Department, and the York County Sheriff’s Office.
