North Carolina Trees 'Crunching' as East Coast Braces for Major Winter Storm

Freezing rain left parts of North Carolina coated in slippery ice as a winter storm approached the East Coast on Wednesday, December 16.

The National Weather Service (NWS) said more than 60 million residents on the East Coast were under various types of winter weather advisories. A major nor’easter forecast to hit Wednesday was expected to stretch nearly 1,000 miles, from northern Georgia to New England, the NWS said.
