NORTH EAST NEWS: Terrified worker 'doused in petrol' and told they'd be set on fire in shop robbery
Police are hunting a man who poured petrol over a shop worker and threatened to set them on fire during a robbery.
The incident took place shortly before 7am, on Saturday, January 25, at the store on Oakerside Drive, Peterlee. Durham Constabulary officers have now released CCTV images of a man they would like to speak to in relation to what happened, reports Chronicle Live.
The police said a man entered the store, "doused the lone shop worker in petrol, before threatening to set them on fire". They are then said to have demanded money from the worker and made off with cash.
