North Staffordshire village under water as footage shows 'waves lapping' by shops

Dramatic footage has captured the moment a North Staffordshire village was left under water. And the scenes earlier this morning even show waves lapping up against businesses in Forsbrook.

The flooding on Cheadle Road was captured at around 8.15am and shows motorists attempting to battle through it with the water levels as high as the bottom of shop doorways. Since then and locals say it has receded and the village is thought to be back to normal.

But it represents yet another flooding issue in North Staffordshire after Storm Bert brought heavy rain and strong winds. The issues have also been exacerbated as temperatures rose to melt what had been successive nights of snow fall.
