The North Wales main line was blocked this morning with train services halted. Transport for Wales said there had been a points failure between Llandudno Junction and Bangor.

This saw the line towards Holyhead shut in the Penmaenmawr area. Train services were delayed.

Network Rail attended the incident. The line was later reopened.

Transport for Wales earlier said: "A points failure at Penmaenmawr is causing disruption to services on our Birmingham International / Cardiff Central / Manchester Airport - Holyhead route, as a result the line towards Holyhead is currently blocked so services from Llandudno Junction may be delayed and revised.

"Network Rail staff are currently at the affected area investigating. Please check back here for more information shortly. We apologise for the disruption caused to your journey."
