North Yorkshire pub that's home to UK's best Sunday roast, according to Good Food Guide

A North Yorkshire pub has been named as the place for the best roast dinner in the UK.

The Abbey Inn, in Byland, has just claimed the title for the UK's best Sunday roast dinner according to The Good Food Guide. Top spot in the Top 50 Best Sunday Roasts in Britain for 2024 has been awarded to this country pub, which is owned by Tommy Banks, a chef celebrated with three Great British Menu wins.

Open for little more than a year, The Abbey Inn has rapidly gathered a dedicated following with its exceptional Sunday roasts, often showcasing rare-breed meats sourced straight from the Banks' family farm. Standout dishes have included thinly sliced pork accompanied by crisp crackling, and thick cuts of pink beef, both bursting with flavour, signalling a quality that rightfully earned The Good Food Guide's Best Sunday Roast 2024 accolade. It's around a 40 minute car journey from Teesside if you fancy a Sunday drive with the family one day.
