Rishi Sunak hailed a “decisive breakthrough” on Monday (27 February) as he announced new Windsor framework agreed with the European Union to overcome trade barriers in Northern Ireland following Brexit.

“I believe we have found ways to end the uncertainty and challenge for the people of Northern Ireland,” the prime minister said, before laying out “three big steps forward”.
