Northern Ireland snow tracker live and see when and where snow is forecast near you
Snow has hit many areas across Northern Ireland as a new weather warning from the Met Office is now in force. The further yellow alert for snow and ice covering the whole region came into place at 3pm on Tuesday, January 7, and will remain in force until 12pm on Wednesday, January 8.
It comes as seven schools in Northern Ireland were closed on Tuesday due to adverse weather.
Issuing the new weather warning, the Met Office said: "Snow and icy patches leading to some disruption to travel

"Showers of rain and sleet near coasts, and snow inland, will continue to affect Northern Ireland this afternoon and into this evening. Overnight, showers should become confined to coastal areas. With winds easing, it is likely to be a much colder night than last night, bringing widespread frost and icy patches."

For Tuesday night's weather forecast for Northern Ireland, the Met Office said: "Clear intervals and occasional wintry showers this evening with local fresh snowfalls and some ice. Overnight as winds ease showers will die back to northern coastal areas. Frosty. Minimum temperature -3C."
And for Wednesday, the forecaster added: "Mostly dry but cold with some sunshine, but a chance of some freezing fog in the south. A few coastal wintry showers. Light winds. Maximum temperature 2C."
