Northern Ireland weather outlook for the week ahead

After a particularly mild weekend across Northern Ireland, the outlook for the next few days suggests not too much is to change weather-wise.

Despite Monday, January 20 being known as Blue Monday, said to be the "most depressing day of the year", things could be on the brighter side in NI according to The Met Office.

The forecaster has said that we could see sunny spells across the country as we move into the new week with temperatures reaching just under 10C.

In Belfast, the rain is set to stay off until Friday with the sun making an appearance throughout the week.

This is what the Met Office has forecasted for Northern Ireland this week:

Monday:

A dry but cloudy day with light winds and bright or sunny spells increasing throughout the day.

Maximum temperature 9 °C.

Outlook for Tuesday to Thursday:

Cloudy with rain at times Tuesday morning and again later Thursday otherwise cloudy but dry with bright or sunny spells.
