Northumberland golf course ranked as one of the UK's most picturesque to play
A Northumberland golf club has been named amongst the top 10 'most picturesque golf courses you can't afford to miss.'
That's according to the golfing gurus at National Club Golfer (NCG), who conducted an extensive review of more than 3,000 course in the UK and Ireland, with the the Northumberland coastline club has been named one of the most breath-taking spots for ‘picture-perfect’ setting to tee off.
Northumberland remains recognised as one of ‘Britain’s best-kept secrets’ as a holiday destination, thanks to its involvement in high-profile films like Harry Potter - proving a love of the wizarding world is still more popular than ever with the opening of a new store in Northumberland only just this month.

So it's no surprise the picturesque views and pretty surroundings have wowed judges over. For an activity that’s relaxing yet challenging, with the North Sea as the soundtrack to the game, there’s no spot like Bamburgh Castle Golf Club as the perfect place to soak up the outdoors and get active.
When it comes to incredible views, Bamburgh Castle beats the lot. To access the course, golfer and visitors have to drive past the iconic Bamburgh Castle itself which has stood its ground for around 1,500 years. Whilst on the grass visitors are rewarded with the stunning view of the beautiful structure in all its glory.
The course’s unique design ensures a memorable golfing experience, beginning with two par 3s and then two par 5s. When golfers reach the brow on the 3rd hole they are then immediately hit with the beautiful Bamburgh views looking towards the sandy beach of the mile-long Budle Bay, home to a popular birdwatching spot.
Once golfers approach hole 14, they are encouraged to pause and ‘take a moment’ to view the course’s natural surroundings with miles of ‘unspoilt beaches’ and the sea on three sides. Further north golfers will find views of the Holy Island of Lindisfarne just off Northumberland’s North East coast, a sight to behold, all before enjoying post-round refreshments in Bamburgh Castle’s charming old wooden clubhouse,
