Northumberland manor house Matfen Hall shortlisted for ‘Boutique Hotel of the Year’

Delight is in store for a Northumberland hotel after being shortlisted from hundreds of nominations for a coveted award.

Luxury hotel and country estate, Matfen Hall, has been recognised as one of the finest boutique hotels in the country by Boutique Hotelier. The prestigious 2024 Boutique Hotelier Awards shortlisted the estate for the coveted ‘Boutique Hotel of the Year’ category.

The nomination follows the country estate being awarded an AA five-star rating, making it the first and only five-star hotel in Northumberland to receive the top accolade, with the stunning property seeing an extraordinary reinvention following a multi-million pound renovation project.

The recent refurbishment to the Grade-II listed country estate included extensive renovations and upgrades to its dining areas, bars and bedrooms. The Great Hall has also been restored to its former glory, while a new mezzanine bar has been created.
