Northumberland to welcome 'winter wonderland' après ski bar for Christmas at stunning location

If you need little or no invitation to get in the festive spirit nice and early, you may want to take a trip to a well known Northumberland location from next week, as it becomes home to its own alpine bar.

While it still might be November, with Fenwick's Window being revealed last weekend and decorations going up everywhere there's no denying that Christmas is on the way and festive spirit will soon be brought to Charlton Hall's Tempus in abundance, with the arrival of the

The Alpine Tipi at The Tempus will open its doors to the public on Friday, November 15, following the bar's success in the summer, with live music and festive food and drinks, bringing a unique offering to the area.

Situated on the grounds of The Doxford Group’s 33-bedroom hotel, The Tempus, the tipi has been re-designed with a cosy ski chalet aesthetic with indoor and outdoor seating, much needed blankets and faux furs as well as firepits, perfect for toasting marshmallows.

Open every Friday and Saturday from 4pm, guests can enjoy winter warming cocktails including Bottled Chocolate Negroni and Smoked Old Fashioned served alongside the classics such as Mulled Wine, Warm Spiced Cider and boozy hot chocolates. A festive twist has also been added to its staple wood-fire pizza menu with the Prancer and Dancer’s Pepperoni, Brie Merry and Bright and All the Trimmings pizzas. Guests can also order a selection of seasonal street food including a whole baked camembert, turkey loaded fries and the classic pigs in blankets!

Offering the perfect space for private festive events, the Alpine Tipi at The Tempus will also play host to an array of exciting events in the lead up to Christmas including Wreath Making with the talented team at The Whole Sch-Bang, a guided Wax Melt Masterclass with local experts from Dovecotes Northumberland and a family-friendly Santa’s Grotto session with the main man himself.
